Ready to update to Version 1.7? It has some fantastic new features you'll love. Before you pull the trigger, here are some critical items you should read!

This release is NOT for Raven. If you have a Raven, please do not attempt to upgrade at this time!

1. User Waypoints:  WARNING - Your user waypoint file will be corrupted with this upgrade and any user waypoints you have saved will not be recoverable! If you have a lot of user waypoints, please save a copy of the file datuser.dat before running 1.7 the first time. (This has been corrected with v1.7.0 B)

2. iPAQ Model Considerations: (This has been corrected with v1.7.0 B)

A. XM Bluetooth Operations on iPAQ 22xx, 54xx, and 55xx iPAQs: BT XM units will not work with 2210™s and some 5xxx™s at this time. This will be fixed in the next few days with a minor upgrade. Do not upgrade at this time if you have Bluetooth XM and use a 5xxx or 2210 iPAQ. If you get the Cannot connect to XM � message when you run the software your PDA is susceptible to this problem and you should return to using 1.67. If you only have a BT GPS and your XM unit is wired, then this Version 1.7 is ok.

B. Systems running the Attitude Indicator will see incorrect operations of the AI when running version 1.7. This will be corrected in an upcoming maintenance release.

C. BT iPAQ models 3970 will not connect to the BT XM units in this version. This will be corrected in an upcoming maintenenace release.

3. If you get the error Out of Bluetooth memory when running this software be sure that the APDIR folder is placed on the storage card. The utility DBMOVER is available from the downloads section of our website and allows you to easily move the files to the storage card. If you already have DBMover, be sure to get the newly updated version (for 1.7) from our website.

4. Make sure you read the software update instructions so that the update goes smoothly. This will not only save you time, but will help you update without waiting for technical support.

5. When installing, make sure you select FULL INSTALLATION so you get all the components. If you select Update Only you will be missing critical parts.

6. NOTICE: If you are running a 32Mb machine (such as the Compaq 36xx or 37xx or the HP PDA/Phones) we strongly recommend that you use a storage card to off-load files from main memory. If you do not, it is possible/probable that this version (v1.7.0) will not run properly due to memory constraints. 7. Are you using a storage card to keep main memory free and maximize performance? Read about it here: Storage Media

8. If you already use a storage card and your system was operating properly as of the time of this update, please make sure you continue to choose to install all files to the storage card while installing your update(s).

9. Please remember to Backup your system (use Start > Programs > iPAQ Backup) after the update is complete and you have confirmed the system is operating properly.
