How to configure your bluetooth settings for DeX
|
If you are having a problem with your Bluetooth weather receiver or GPS, then most likely the issue is with the settings. We need to make sure that the com ports that the computer has assigned to these units are setup correctly with those ports in Anywhere Map PRO. This will most likely resolve the issue.
1) Go to start > devices and printers. Devices and printers is just next to control panel and you can use this to add new bluetooth devices. If you have already added your Bluetooth device to the computer, you can look under devices and you should see the Bluetooth devices that you have setup with a connection. Typical names for hardware that we use will show up as Hiacom bt GPS for your GPS or WX blue SPP for the weather radio or even XRX BLUE for the Zaon. 2) In this hypothetical situation, assume that the gps is not working. Under devices on devices and printers you see Haicom bt GPS data logger. Double-click on that and move to the tab that says services. This will give you the com port that you need. In our example, it is going to tell us that the com port is 25 (NOTE: your com port will likely be different!). This is the outgoing com port. 3) I would then cancel out of devices and printers and go back to Anywhere Map PRO > settings > GPS settings. In there I change the top com port option (which is the incoming port) to 25 and make sure that it is set to a baud rate of 4800. Essentially, we need to make sure that the outgoing com port in devices and printers matches the incoming ports on Anywhere Map. 4) The above scenario that I described for your gps will also work for your weather box and your zaon as well. There are only a few minor changes that you do different in Anywhere Map (step 3). A) For your weather box, you are going to find the place to change the com port under wx/download > weather configuration. B) XRX will have the option to change the com port under settings > XRX settings. NOTE: If the unit is setup incorrect, the system will ask for a pairing code within Anywhere Map PRO or it will not have a com port under services in devices and printers. This can be frustrating experience. In this case it can be best to sometimes remake the connection in devices and printer. Troubleshooting steps will be given in another article. e-mail support@controlvision.com if you would like something to be better explained. |
