Depending on the battery age and the power management features of the hand held unit, every PDA has the potential to loose all of its settings and data. This loss occurs when the PDA is without power for an extended amount of time.
Each PDA uses a rechargeable battery to keep its memory active, when this battery is exhausted; all the installed programs and settings are lost. This can occur even if the PDA is not in use. Once this loss occurs, the PDA defaults back to the original factory setting, which doesn’t include Anywhere Map or other software programs.
By spending a small amount of time now, you can be prepared and save yourself from hassle and frustration if you PDA were to loose power. If a backup is completed before the power loss occurs, you can quickly restore your PDA’s functionality within minutes.
