Power Settings for the PDA Screen

Most handhelds will turn off their display or their backlight if no activity is detected for a certain period of time. In rare cases the PDA will not allow the backlight or the display to return, even if the screen is tapped and keys are pressed. To control both of these settings, please complete the following steps:

1) Click the Start | Settings

2) Tap the “System” tab at the bottom of the screen

3) Next, click on the Backlight icon

The “Battery Power” section controls the handheld when running on the battery.

To completely stop the unit from turning off the backlight or the display while running in battery mode, uncheck the first checkbox. (Please note the backlight uses more power and your PDA battery may not last as long)

To change the amount of time before the unit turns off the backlight or display, while running in battery mode, ensure the first checkbox is checked and tap the dropdown box to the right of the first check box.

The bottom checkbox allows the unit to turn on the display or backlight when the screen is tapped or a key is pressed. We recommend having this option checked.

4) Now you can click on the AC Power tab at the bottom of the screen

The “AC Power” section controls the unit when powered by an active AC power source.

To completely stop the unit from turning off the backlight or the display while running in AC mode, uncheck the first checkbox. We recommend having this option un-checked.

To change the amount of time before the unit turns off the backlight or display, while running in AC mode, ensure the first checkbox is checked and tap the dropdown box to the right of the first check box.

The bottom checkbox allows the unit to turn on the display or backlight when the screen is tapped or a key is pressed. We recommend having this option checked.
