If you are having trouble installing a program or and update, Anti-virus / Firewall programs can interfere with normal installations. It is recommended to disable Anti-virus and Firewalls only while completing and install or update.

Complete the following steps to disable Symantec / Norton Firewall 2003:

 
1) Right-click the Symantec / Norton Personal Firewall icon in the system tray

2) Click “Personal Firewall”

3) Tap on “Security”

4) Press the “Turn Off” button on the right

5) Press “Yes” on the warning dialog

The firewall is now disabled

Please Note: Some versions of Symantec or Norton will ask for a period of time before re-enabling the firewall. Please select the “Until Reboot” option and reboot your computer after the update or install.
